RAHO -Somalia  adopts the Hygiene Improvement Framework (HIF) which states hygiene improvement which is also health benefits to society when three things are in place:

1. Hygiene promotion
2. Improved access to hardware for water supply, sanitation and hygiene
3. Environment sustainability.
RAHO focuses on a selection of the interventions identified by the HIF (improved sanitation at the household level, access to soap, hygiene promotion and the enabling environment), while recognizing that others (such as improved water supply, solid waste management, better drainage, school sanitation and so on) are also important if the health benefits of sanitation and hygiene promotion are to be realized.
