Legal Aid
BACKGROUND
The prolonged war in the country resulted widespread crimes involving sexual violence, illegal land grapping, murder and robbery. In most cases, victims affected remain silent in fear of repercussion. Moreover, physical and emotional abuses are inflicted upon vulnerable groups such as women and children.
RAHO is supporting victims to speak and have access to legal aid. In collaboration with
the formal and informal legal actors, RAHO is supporting the reinforcement and expansion of legal systems through communal access to justice initiatives.
LEGAL AID
RAHO advocates for women and children survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) to have access to legal protection. Our services include legal counseling, alternate dispute resolution and mediation.
RAHO advocates for the rights of children, underage and adult maids to have respected and dignified treatment by their custodians and employees.

Establish Communal Legal Volunteers
It is our strategy to establish sustainable solutions on access to justice by communities through training community volunteers as paralegals on mediation, negotiation, case filing, case transfer and alternative dispute resolution. The communal paralegals are increased awareness on basic human rights that are to respect by all.
INCREASE AWARNESS
Advocacy without increasing public awareness has its shortfalls on aspects of durable solutions to respect individual basic rights protected. Therefore, RAHO engages with local communities, campaigns to uplift their understanding of their
rights, duties and responsibilities through community dialogue, outreach campaigns, distribution of materials on women and children’s rights.
