Civic Engagement on Good Governance

RAHO-Somalia recognizes that good governance is the foundation of sustainable human development and inclusive societies. Our approach is both practical and participatory, designed to strengthen local capacities while ensuring that development prioritizes the poor, empowers women, and amplifies the voices of marginalized groups.

We are guided by globally recognized principles of good governance—participation, rule of law, transparency, responsiveness, consensus-building, equity, effectiveness and efficiency, accountability, empowerment, cooperation, sustainability, and security—and translate them into locally relevant actions.

RAHO’s governance strategy focuses on designing context-specific and community-driven interventions that build trust, strengthen accountability, and improve service delivery. By working across Somalia’s public institutions, private sector, and civil society, we foster collaboration, promote social cohesion, and create opportunities for communities to engage meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives.
